Collegiate Dancers Represent At Ohio Star Ball
The Ohio Star Ball is officially here and collegiate competitors couldn't be more excited.
The Ohio Star Ball is a special competition for many reasons, but what really sets it apart from other Pro/Am events is its inclusion of collegiate dancers.
Traditionally, Pro/Am and collegiate competitions are held separately, with colleges hosting events only for their own dancers. Rarely are there competitions like the Ohio Star Ball that combine both professional and collegiate-level dancers in the same location.
Ohio Star Ball in Columbus, which is hosting its college competitions on Saturday, Nov. 18, and Sunday, Nov. 19. You can watch the collegiate events in their entirety here on FloDance.com.

Sam Sodano, the founder and organizer of Ohio Star Ball, had the vision to create the most renowned ballroom dance event in America in 1977, and part of that vision was to include every aspect of ballroom competition — including the collegiate events. His competition is one of the few in existence in which collegiate dancers can win a cash prize for placing at the top of their divisions.
Not only can dancers win cash on top of a title, but they also get the rare opportunity to watch and mingle with professional dancers, exposing them to the highest level of dancing.
One of the main attractions of this collegiate competition is the Team Match, in which each school sends out its best couple per dance to compete against other top couples from participating schools.
This year's Team Match takes place Sunday, and you can get a front-row seat to cheer on your favorite university by joining us for the live stream right here on FloDance.com
